The Chinese wedding etiquettes are an enriched part of Chinese culture. Though most of the rituals and customs have been lost or modified, many are yet practiced today. Chinese wedding is practiced in honor of family respect and values, and a respect to committed relationship or holly marriage. In Chinese wedding ceremonies, it’s considered a joint of not only two individuals but also two families and they take active part in it.

In a formal meeting between the parents of bride and groom, they fix the date for wedding and they present different gifts named as "Guo Da Li" or grand gifts. These gifts represent fertility and prosperity in Chinese culture. The gifts which are offered by groom’s family are even numbered because even number, and thus they are considered religiously and officially engaged.

After betrothal meeting, both families will start sending double happiness cakes to each other and their relatives. These are usually Chinese wedding cakes that are known as dragon and phoenix cakes. In these cakes, dragons and phoenix are printed on their surfaces. In some styles, red beans, lotus seed pastes are filled in these cakes.

These weeding cakes are usually sent by groom family to bride’s family and also to their ancestors and friends.
Bride’s family prepares the dowry; a list of daily necessaries to groom’s family.  This dowry is mostly composed of items like linen, bedding and utensils. In old days, Chinese girls used to learn needle themselves and making the dowry items by their own.

This is important for bride’s family to show their love for her from their family.  Most of the virtues and traditions which are practiced in Chinese family are long times ago being according to family respect and values.
Whether it is tea ceremony, cakes sending, families formal meeting, wedding night rituals or post weeding customs, they are highly valued and much interesting to learn and get know about them. In past weeding customs, one was that bride should get up early in morning and cook meal for groom family to show her love, affections and that she is well-nurtured.

Wedding etiquette is a set of rules or customs which control the custom behavior in a wedding ceremony, which is sometimes much painful and guests may feel bitter if treated ruthlessly. Etiquette is how the people respond and behave in a particular manner in a society.
